Visioning

We begin our time together with a visioning session, inviting you to design the foundation of your project. What emotions does it evoke? Does it carry a distinct color palette? Is there an overarching theme that ties it all together? Imagine your dream oracle deck what does it look like, and what meaning and energy does it hold?

I am thrilled to embark on this journey with you. This is the experience I wish I had when I was navigating the process of researching, creating, and bringing my own tarot deck to life. I’ve done the heavy lifting—learning through both successes and missteps—and now I’m here to share everything I’ve discovered. My goal is to guide you past the hurdles so you can dive straight into the best part: designing your own beautiful tarot or oracle deck!

All of this takes place in a three story Victorian house in Colorado Springs!

Creating

Learn how to use your iPad to bring your deck to life! Using the Procreate drawing app, we’ll explore a variety of art techniques, including digital collage, texture layering and more. Once you’ve mastered a few key techniques, you’ll create a template for your cards. From there you’ll dive into designing your deck, experimenting with ideas, styles, and concepts while letting your creativity take the lead. You will leave our time together with the skills to complete your deck at home.

Production & Publishing

Explore the possibilities of indie self-production versus partnering with a publishing house. We’ll cover the basics of using crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter or Indiegogo to bring your project to life. You’ll also learn how to craft and submit a professional proposal to a publisher. Plus, you’ll receive valuable resources to guide you through the indie publishing process.

Getting Here...

Colorado Springs is about 1-1.5 hours from Denver International Airport. Groome Shuttle makes several trips per day to Colorado Springs and back for $57 ea way. Make your shuttle reservations early.

Artist Skill Level

Some digital art knowledge will be helpful, but not required. I will email everyone prerequisite YouTube tutorials so that you will have a basic understanding of Procreate before arriving.

Retreat House

Our retreat is located in the heart of Colorado Springs, in a charming 5000 sq foot Victorian house with 3 levels, 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. There is a hot tub and fire pit in the yard.

Please keep in mind that this is a very old house! It will definitely have it's quirks and creaks.

All meals will be catered in house.
